Staff Spotlight - Crystal Jessop

We could never have gotten to where we are without an amazing staff that works to make sure Five Vines Wine Bar is the place you want to be. Because admit it, you wanna be here right now. What really makes Five Vines special, though? Is it Randy’s infinite knowledge? Is it Cole’s perpetual charms? Or is it Suzy’s overabundant kindness? Nope. Randy doesn’t know everything (just ask Cole), Cole can get grumpy (just ask everyone), and Suzy...well...Suzy is still pretty perfect. The wine may be excellent, the food may be delicious, and the beer may be outstanding, but it is the people who work here that make Five Vines special. So it is time to recognize the excellence of the people who stand for Five Vines every day against the unruly hordes of winos and foodies. Time to recognize the greatness that is the Five Vines Family. And who better to start with than the unflappable Crystal Jessop?

Yay Crystal!

Yay Crystal!

So here is the quick one, two, three (...four, five) about our very own Crystal Jessop:

How do you know the Five Vines family and get started here?

“I first met everyone’s favorite beer manager (Cole) in junior high and I haven’t been able to shake him since. In the fifteen years since then, I was introduced to my life long love Andrew through Cole and his family. We’ve gathered together for countless celebrations, game nights, rock climbing sessions over the years and come 2019, when I had reached my wits end in the world of retail management, Suzy was quick to graciously offer me a position at the bar and my life has vastly improved since.” Believe me, since we got Crystal on the team, so has ours.

What is your favorite wine at Five Vines Wine Bar?

“Lichen Les Pinot” This is an excellent choice, the Les Pinot is one of our most unique Unique Whites. A Pinot Noir / Pinot Gris blend, this white is made similar to sparkling wines, but without the secondary fermentation for carbonation.

What is your favorite Five Vines munchie?

“The off-menu special, the goat cheese bacon caramelized onion flatbread with honey.” That is a real winner. We are even thinking of adding it to the real menu soon. Crystal is so smart.

What is your favorite thing about Five Vines?

“The entire Five Vines family pours their hearts and souls into this business and it shows. It makes for such a warm and rewarding work environment that we all ultimately feel like a part of the family at the end of the day.” And that is because she is! We always appreciate when someone feels welcome and happy to be a part of what we do. Though, we are not sure how much she realizes how much of what we can do is because of her and the other staff members' amazing hard work.

What is your best Five Vines Wine Bar memory?

“One that sticks out is winning the staff led blind tasting exercise, white wine edition. Still not entirely sure how I pulled that one off.” Me either. We make those pretty hard.

So that is our spotlight on the miraculous Crystal Jessop. A one in a million gal with a huge heart filled with lots of love. Come in and see her soon! Give her some support and a kind word or two. Our staff is working extra hard during this trying time and all the new changes that accompany it. Your patience and support is always appreciated as we get through this together.
